These sturdy cutting boards are made of pine on one side and bamboo on the other. The Bamboo side has a notched look to it (shown in the picture) and is the cutting side (does NOT sublimate). The pine has a smoother to the touch feel and is the side you will sublimate on. ***The bamboo can be laser engraved *** The bamboo side is slightly darker than the sublimatable (pine) side of the board and has more wood grain.
2 sizes available -
9" x 6" and 11 1/4" x 7 1/2"
3/4" thickness with handle being 1" x 3 3/4" (please be sure your press can open to this thickness)
Both have the handle, just the size is different. All the boards will have a different grain pattern because they are real wood. They will come individually boxed.
You will need a well ventilated area as these do have a smell to them as they are pressed.
Handwashing in warm water is recommended.
PRESSING INSTRUCTIONS and RECOMMENDATIONS - (these are only recommendations as each press is different. You will need to see what will work best for your particular press or machine)
Pre-press for 1 min to get the moisture out of the board. Let cool before taping the transfer to the board. Press for 385 degrees for 135 seconds with medium pressure. You will need to have a Nomex felt pad or soft paper towels underneath for cushioning and helps even your pressure.
****If the final image appears light increase the pressure or dwell time slightly (10-20 seconds). If it appears blurred or yellowed reduce the dwell time slightly (10-20 seconds).
